Carol Ann Del Vecchio age 78, of Newtown, passed away on Saturday, October 7, 2017, at Danbury Hospital surrounded by her loving family.  Carol was born in Bridgeport July 10, 1939 daughter of the late Richard and Edna Drew.  Carol was raised in Stratford and gradated from Stratford High School in 1957 and attended the University of Bridgeport.  Carol worked at Hoffman Fuel, Barnes Engineering and many years at Berol Corp in Danbury and retired from IBM.  After moving to Newtown, Carol and Dan were members of The Jaycees for many years.   They also team-taught religious education at their church, St. Rose.  Carol enjoyed baking, cooking, shopping, traveling and time with her family.  Carol was a generous woman who had a heart of gold and was kind to everyone.  In addition to her love of family and friends, Carol had a love of Angels and always could be seen wearing her Angel pins.  Carol will be dearly missed by all who knew her.  Carol's family would like to thank all the healthcare professionals involved in her medical care, especially Dr. Robert Kloss, Carol's oncologist of 31 years.


Carol is survived by her loving husband Daniel of 58 years, her children Debbie Pontelandolfo and her husband Larry, Laurie Caserta, Amy Busch and her husband Eric, Daniel Del Vecchio and his wife Kari, Denise Fiorilla and her husband Todd; her sister Jacqueline Smith and her husband Bill; her grandchildren Anthony, Laura, Tyler, Emma, Lyndsey, Alexis, Mason, Lana, and Sarah; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her siblings Jane Zinn, Mary Curtis, and Shirley Zinn; a grandson Christopher Fiorilla. Friends may greet the family on Wednesday from 4-8 p.m. at the Cyril F. Mullins Funeral Home, 399 White Plains Rd. Trumbull. Funeral services will take place on Thursday at 10 a.m. at St. Rose of Lima Church 46 Church Hill Rd. Newtown.
