William "Billy" Battaglia

William R. Battaglia Jr., age 46, of Orange, CT, passed away October 4, 2022. He was born in New Haven, CT, to William Battaglia Sr. and the late Tracy Garrison Battaglia. As child, Billy was an exceptional athlete. His athletic accomplishments included a State Bicycle Motor Cross Championship, years of Milford youth athletic's including junior major baseball, Pop Warner Football, and played baseball and football all four years at Foran High School concluding with 2 years of American Legion Baseball. He would later coach Amity Middle School baseball for many years until he had his own children. After high school, Billy attended Central Connecticut State College where he earned his bachelors and master’s in Career and Technical Education. He later earned his Sixth Year diploma in Educational Leadership from Southern Connecticut State University. Billy was a career and technical education teacher who worked at Amity High School and for Waterbury Public Schools. He recently left the classroom to work for Technical Education Solutions. Inc. to provide professional development for teachers using manufacturing equipment. Billy loved to ride his motorcycle and was a proud member of the Bridgeport Motorcycle Association. He loved having an adventure in the outdoors whether it was skiing down a black diamond or hiking parts of the Appalachian Trail. Billy had an amazing aptitude for all things mechanical. He had a special fondness for cars, boats, and motorcycles. He always shared his mechanical expertise whether it was fixing a car, a boat, or nailing a roof he was always there to help a friend. Billy loved his friends and his family and they will forever cherish the times they had together. 

He is survived by his beloved wife Dr. Elizabeth (Brooks) Battaglia and their two cherished children Duke Battaglia and Stella Battaglia; his father William Battaglia Sr.; his sister Shelley Caccavale and her husband Nick; his nephew Christian Caccavale and his niece Giavanna Caccavale.

Friends and family are invited to attend his funeral services on Thursday, Oct 13, 2022 at 7 p.m. at the Cyril F. Mullins Funeral Home, 399 White Plains Rd. ,Trumbull, CT. Interment will be private. Friends may pay their respects on Thursday from 4-7 p.m. at the funeral home.
