William D. Young, Sr., passed away at the age of 93 on April 20, 2026. He was a long-time resident of Trumbull, CT. Born in Bridgeport, he was a graduate of Central High School, after which he joined the Army during the Korean Conflict. William (Bill) returned home to marry his lifelong sweetheart, June. They had three children together. Bill retired from Bridgeport Machines as a machinist. Bill enjoyed life to the fullest. You could always find him at the gym, cheering on his favorite New York sports teams, or rooting for the UConn Huskies. When he wasn’t watching a game or staying active, he loved being outdoors, soaking up the sun with a good cigar and a side of blackberry brandy. Bill will be remembered most for his kindness, politeness, and thoughtful nature. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather who cherished time spent with his family—whether on the golf course, playing softball, or simply sitting around together making memories. Those moments will forever be treasured by all who knew and loved him. Bill is predeceased by his parents, David W. Young & Anna (Mehal) Young, and his loving wife, June M. (Walker) Young. He is survived by his three children: William (Kathy) Young, Jr., Gregory (Joanne) Young, and Patricia (Kevin) Mrozinski. He also has eight grandchildren: Kristen (Dean) Young/Robinson, Kathleen (Matthew) Lawrence, Tracy (Brien) Fagan, Alicia Young, Brett & Lauren Young, and Thomas & Kimberly Mrozinski. In addition, he was a loving great-grandfather to Julia, Hannah, and Lucas Lawrence & Keegan, Makenna, and Evan Fagan. Bill’s legacy of love, laughter, and devotion to family will live on in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing him.
