Our beloved Mom, Gram and Gram Gram, Virginia Rose (Stegmuller) Jessup, age 89, of Trumbull, passed away April 23, 2022 peacefully in her home. She was born in Floral Park, Long Island, NY, daughter of the late August and Mildred Stegmuller. She and her late husband Alvah owned a family plumbing and HVAC business in Stamford for many years.
A devout Catholic, she was a member of Cursillo, RCIA, BirthRite, bereavement ministry and a founding member of the Stamford Senior Center. She served as a Eucharistic Minister for many years and most recently at St. Joseph's Manor. Ginny and her husband together shared their faith through prison ministry.
Mom’s greatest joy was spending time with her growing family and dearest friends. She lived life with faith, hope and love.
In addition to her husband, Alvah, she was predeceased by her sister Mildred Rowe and her brother-in-law, Deacon William Rowe. She is survived by her four devoted children: Virginia McNamara, (Robert Baber), Alvah Jr. “Skip” (Michele), Laura Sojka (Richard), Mary Granata (Robert) and her ten loving grandchildren: Laura Holko (Paul), William McNamara (Krista), Katherine Jessup, Matthew Jessup (Caitlin), Jessica Sojka, William Sojka, Robert Granata Jr., John Granata, Kevin Granata, Joseph Granata and nine cherished great-grandchildren: Carter, Fiona, Kent, Collins, Josephine, Paul, Nathaniel, Mark and Savannah May and several dear nieces and nephews.
Mom often reminded us, “ The victory is ours in Christ Jesus”.
Friends and family are invited to attend her funeral services on Friday, April, 29th at 12:00 p.m. at St. Stephen's Church, 6948 Main St. Trumbull, CT. Burial in Nichols Village Cemetery.
Friends may call on Thursday, April 28th from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Cyril F. Mullins Funeral Home, 399 White Plains Rd. Trumbull, CT.
