Vincent DiMasi Obituary

Vincent DiMasi Jr., age 62 of Trumbull, beloved husband of Margaret (Verrastro) DiMasi, passed away peacefully on Monday, September 20, 2021. Born in Stamford on December 5, 1958, Vinnie was a man who loved his family more than words can describe. Vinnie was a dedicated father, grandfather (Papi), friend and true patriot of his country. For those who knew him, they knew he was warm, compassionate, laugh out loud funny, and never afraid to invite you inside for a meal or cup of coffee. Vinnie had a way of connecting with everyone and always finding common ground.

It was often spoken by those who spent time with Vin that he was extremely likeable and deeply respectful to everyone. Loving and thoughtful, selfless and generous, Vin always put others before himself. Vin loved spending time with his family and was enjoying the benefits of being semi-retired. Recent travels with his wife to Alaska and Italy were highlights, but it was the time spent with his family--especially his two grandchildren--that he cherished the most. Nothing else mattered to Vin when the family was all together.

Vin spent the majority of his professional career working for the City of Norwalk spending over 16 years helping others live better lives. He was also very proud to serve as a member of the Trumbull Town Council as a passionate member of the community. When he wasn't working, Vin enjoyed current events, helping his children and relaxing at the beach. When his kids were younger he was a dedicated parent to whatever sport was in season at the time. Whether it was ice hockey, lacrosse or equestrian sports, Vin always found a way to be there for his kids. Vinnie was also a founding member of the Daniels Farm Fathers Club during the years his children were young.

In addition to his loving partner in life, Margaret, survivors include: his daughter, Alisha DiMasi and husband David Etlinger with their two children Loretta and Louis of New Hampshire, and his son, Derek DiMasi and wife Danielle (Anarumo) DiMasi of Cos Cob, his sister MaryAnn (DiMasi) Deleppo of Massachusetts as well as several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and dear friends. He was predeceased by his son Alexander (AJ) DiMasi and parents, Vincent and Nancy (Mancini) DiMasi.
