Tomm Taylor (born Thomas Cody Hubner) passed away suddenly on April 2, 2021 of non-Covid related health issues. He leaves behind and will be greatly missed by his brothers Karl (Carol) of Redding CT, William of New York City, Matthew of California, and his sister Emily (John Mendini) of Holmdel, NJ, his father Karl of NY, and his nieces and nephews; Benjamin, Erin, Johnny, Connor, Grace. Tomm was predeceased by his beloved mother, Patricia Cody Hubner.
Tomm was born in Ridgewood NJ but moved in his early years to Trumbull CT where he resided until college. Tomm attended both Daniels Farm School and St. Catherine of Siena School. He attended St. Joseph High School in Trumbull. Tomm served as class president for both his 8th grade class at St. Catherine of Siena, and his high school class at St. Joseph High School. Tomm served as an altar boy for many years at St. Catherine's Church. He enjoyed many summers involved with Trumbull Youth Association Play Productions. Tomm was extremely hard working in all he did, including his first job at Baskin Robbins in Trumbull and many later accomplishments.
After graduating from St. Joe’s (1987); Tomm went to study at Fordham University. It is here that Tomm’s love for NY took hold and he remained in NYC for many years. Tomm loved so much about NYC but mostly that he was able to explore life and be himself in the great big city. While living in NYC Tomm worked for Mayor Ed Koch at Gracie Mansion, at Madison Square Garden, and then upon graduation from Fordham University in 1991, Tomm worked for Nickelodeon and Reuters News Network.
In 2001 Tomm relocated to California to continue to pursue his dream of working in television. He started his own media production company in which he trained others in the art of interviewing and camera presence. He also worked for X-17 and interviewed many celebrities. Tomm was ecstatic to have the opportunity to report weekly on Good Morning Australia where reported as “Tomm Taylor With The Hollywood Report.”
In 2019 Tomm returned to New England and settled in upstate NY until his unexpected passing. Tomm was a kind and loving person who’s larger than life personality touched the lives of many. The loss of Tomm, even a year later, is incomprehensible. We find comfort that he is once again reunited with our mother; their bond was indescribable.
We look forward to welcoming you to a celebration of Tomm’s life on March 19th from 1-4 at Cyril F Mullins Funeral Home 399 White Plains Road, Trumbull CT; where we will come together to share memories, stories and some laughs along with our love for Tomm.
