Thomas B. Murren, a beloved father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully at the age of 89 with his children by his side. A man of unwavering devotion to his family and deep loyalty to his friends, Tom lived a full life marked by kindness, integrity, and quiet strength.
Above all, Tom loved his family. He is predeceased by his loving wife Dorothy who he missed very much. He always said “Dorothy saved my life. She did everything for me. And the best part was that we loved each other so much.” His seven children and one stepson were the center of his world. He found immense joy in watching his family grow, proudly becoming a grandfather to fourteen and a great-grandfather to five. He loved his brother John and sister Patricia. His warmth, wisdom, and steady presence were a constant gift to all who knew him.
Tom built a remarkable 60-year career as a highly respected insurance agent, earning the trust and admiration of his clients and colleagues alike. His work was more than just a profession—it was a lifelong commitment to serving others with honesty and care.
Tom also cherished the friendships he made over the years, many of which spanned decades. He had a special way of making people feel seen and valued, and his friends knew they could always count on him.
A passionate golfer, Tom found joy, challenge, and peace on the golf course throughout his entire life. Whether competing or simply enjoying a quiet round with family or friends, golf was his enduring passion. When he wasn’t golfing he could often be found at his country home in Vermont. He surrounded himself there with family and friends and loved his time skiing and just being at the mountains up there.
Thomas B. Murren leaves behind a legacy of love, hard work, and loyalty. His memory will be treasured, his stories told often, and his presence deeply missed.
