Thelma Franklin

Thelma Franklin, age 98, of Trumbull, CT, passed away on December 30, 2023, peacefully in her sleep. Thelma was born in Elberton, GA to the late Jessie and Lucy Mae McIntosh. As vice-president of product development at Swimwear Anywhere she worked closely to ensure quality control of the Santo Domingo and the Port Jervis plants. In addition she also provided instructional guidance liaison work with their partners in China. Thelma loved her job and retired at the age of 88 to care for her ailing husband, Dewitt. She was a proud member and Past President of the Fairfield Chapter of CHUMS INC, an organization that promotes civic, cultural, educational, and social improvement, especially in the lives of children. She was a lifelong member of the Omicrons, a caring community, of which she was a founding member. She was an usher and a member of the Women's Ministry group at Messiah Baptist Church. 

Thelma was predeceased by her beloved husband, Dewitt Franklin, her sister Sue Linton, and her nephew Harold Wainwright. Survivors include her devoted children Adrienne and her husband Harlon Robinson and Kevin and his wife Noreen Franklin; three loving grandchildren Shawn and his wife Amy Robinson, Shannon and Jillian Franklin; two cherished great-grandsons, Isaiah and Elijah Robinson, and her great niece Lisa Samuels.

Friends and family are invited to attend her funeral services on Saturday, January 6, 2024, at 10:30 a.m. directly at Messiah Baptist Church, 210 Congress St. Bridgeport, CT, with the Rev. Dr. James B. Logan, officiating. Burial to follow in Lakeview Cemetery, 885 Boston Ave. Bridgeport, CT. Friends may pay their respects on Saturday from 9:30 a.m. until 10:15 a.m. at the church. Arrangements in the care of the Cyril F. Mullins Funeral Home, 399 White Plains Rd., Trumbull, CT.
