Stanley Cromwell Phillips, age 95, of Trumbull, passed away peacefully on March 1, 2025. He was born in Trenton, NJ son of Albert and Evelyn. Stan lived in NJ for many years before re-locating to Trumbull,CT. He also resided in Newtown. He was a Army Veteran who served his country proudly during the Korean Conflict.
Stan had a strong passion for music and the arts. He loved to sing and was a member of several choirs in the area. These included Trinity Southport, United Congregational in Bridgeport, Connecticut Chorale and the Connecticut Chamber Choir. He also served as a Deacon at United Congregational for many years. A self-taught artist, He loved to paint and has created many oil paintings that are treasured by his family and that hang on the walls of their homes.
Stan was a Design Engineer and an instrumental part of many technology driven start-up companies. The most successful one of these was Summagraphics Corporation in the 1970's and early 1980's. Stan also ran his own consulting services company for many years. He was quite handy in home repairs and loved woodworking. There didn't seem to be anything that he couldn't build or fix.
He is survived by his loving wife Katherine Snook Phillips of 74 years, his two sons; John and his wife Elizabeth of Trumbull, Keith and his wife Karen of Stratford; his grandchildren; Amanda, Ryan (Jess), Austin (Scott), Avery; great-grandchildren; Stella and Delilah. He was predeceased by two children; Mark and Scot, and his brother Albert.
A memorial service will be held on Friday March 7, 2025 at 4:00 p.m. with Pastor Todd Shipley officiating, followed by military honors at Cyril F. Mullins Funeral Home, 399 White Plains Rd. Trumbull. Friends are invited to pay their respects to the family on Friday from 2:00 p.m. until the time of service. Inurnment will be private and at the convenience of the family.
