Sandra "Yaya" Paray Walsh

Sandra "Yaya" Helen (Paray) Walsh, age 81, of Stratford, CT, passed away July 29, 2023 in her home. She was born in Bridgeport, CT, daughter of the late William and Helen Paray. She graduated from Bridgeport Hospital School of Nursing and worked as an L.P.N. before raising her family. Sandy enjoyed cooking, shopping, trips to the casinos, and vacations with her late husband Jerry to Aruba, Vegas and Hawaii.  Her greatest joy was spending time with her family and caring for young children. Her kind, giving, and compassionate personality will be greatly missed along with her sense of humour. She was dedicated to her church and proud of her Russian heritage. 

She was predeceased by her beloved husband Gerald D. Walsh, her son G. Donald Walsh, her brother William Paray, her aunt and uncle Barbara and John Dirgo.

She is survived by her devoted daughter Doreen Walsh-Henningsen and her husband Karl Henningsen, her cherished grandchildren Thea Walsh-Henningsen and Sydney Henningsen, her sister-in-law Audrey Paray and many nieces, nephews, and cousins including Cynthia Hoboken and her husband Blair Ludemann, Andrea Russo and her husband Glenn Russo and Susan Hoboken. 

Friends and family are invited to attend her funeral services on Tuesday at 10:15 a.m. at the Cyril F. Mullins Funeral Home, 399 White Plains Rd. Trumbull and at 11:00 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Carpatho-Russian Orthodox Church, 364 Mill Hill Ave. Bridgeport, CT. Interment will follow in St. John's Cemetery, Stratford, CT.  Friends may pay their respects on Tuesday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service.
