Russell P. Jurgens

Due to unforeseen circumstances, Mr. Jurgen's wake service will be postponed until Tuesday, February 8, 2022 from 4-7 p.m. at the Cyril F. Mullins Funeral Home, 399 White Plains Rd. Trumbull, CT 06611.

Russell P. Jurgens, age 85, of Trumbull, passed away peacefully on January 29, 2022 at Jewish Senior Services in Bridgeport. He was born in Bridgeport and was a life-long area resident. Russ lived a full and fun life. Married to his wife Lynne for 63 years, he loved spending time with family and friends as well as his “neighborhood” family.  Russ was a member of the IBEW and worked as an electrician until his retirement.  In his free time, he loved to travel with his wife and kids as well as hunt and fish with his brothers and buddies, in the “9ers”.  Since the age of 16, Russ was a member of the Long Hill Volunteer Fire Department serving as an Assistant Chief for many years.  He remained an Honorary Lifelong member after his active years of service.  

He is survived by his loving wife Lynne (Johnson) Jurgens, his three children Dennis Jurgens of Seymour, Donna Kintop of Boca Raton, FL, and Doreen Jurgens of Stratford; his grandchildren Aubrey Sepko (John), Taylor Kintop (Bryan), Christopher Jurgens (Cindy), Matthew Jurgens (Krista) and 2 beautiful great-grandchildren Scarlett & Henry.  Russ was predeceased by his son-in-law, Bill Kintop. Funeral services are private. Interment will be in Long Hill Cemetery, Trumbull. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the Long Hill Volunteer Fire Department, 5400 Main St. Trumbull, in Russ’ honor.
