Obituary

Rosemary Farrell Graham of Stratford, age 96, beloved wife for sixty-seven years of the late Albert C. Graham, passed away at home with her beloved family on May 8, 2021.  Born in Bridgeport on April 7, 1925, she was the daughter of the late Leo P. Farrell, Sr. and Josephine O’Leary Farrell.  Following graduation from St. John’s Business School, she worked for Columbia Records in Bridgeport until her marriage in 1947.

She and Albert then raised their six children, Kenneth A. Graham, Esq., of Stratford, the late James L. Graham, Dr. Mark G. Graham (Diane) of Philadelphia, David J. Graham of Huntington, Maureen Routhier (Bob) of Stratford and Janet Warren (Don) of Stratford.  She was the grandmother of Kevin Routhier (fiancé Jeannette), Michael Routhier, Esq. (Emily), Bryan Graham, Amy Warren Casey (Richard), Daniel Routhier (Melissa), Christian Graham and Patrick Warren, Esq. (Rachel), step-grandchildren Alex Caruso (Joey) and Billy Fulginiti and great-grandmother of Lucas Routhier, Quinn Routhier, Trey Casey, Jake Casey, Benjamin Routhier, Halle Rosemary Casey, Georgette Warren-Smith and step-great-grandchildren Juliana and Sophia Caruso.  She was aunt and great-aunt to over a hundred children.  She was close to her cousins from the Fenton, Paules and Peterson families, particularly Ed Fenton.

A devout Roman Catholic, she was the niece of the late Rt. Rev. Msgr. Joseph Farrell, the sister of the late Rev. Edgar Farrell and the cousin of the late Sister Virginia Farrell of the Maryknoll Sisters.  Other predeceased relatives include her sister Gertrude, her brothers Leo P. Farrell, Jr. (Eleanor) and John Farrell (Ann), and her brother-in-law Richard Graham.  She came from and raised large families and loved them all as they loved her.  Later in life she became medical secretary for Dr. James Ryan and then Corporate Secretary and Manager of the Albert C. Graham Company until her retirement in her eighties.  In retirement she took delight in family visits, especially from her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  The family thanks her long time neighborhood friends Esther Decerbo and Ruth Ruskin and many others, her Eucharistic Minister Angie McKelvey, and the health care providers who assisted in meeting Rosemary’s medical and health needs in her later years, her doctors, her longtime private home health aide Nelly Chartier, Stratford VNA Nurse Lily, and Home Health Aide Eartha and in her final months home health aide Veronica Morkly and the Home Hospice Program of Jewish Senior Services.
