Rosemary Fraina

Rosemary Fraina, beloved wife and mother, passed away at the age of 89 on July 25, 2024.  She was born on October 7, 1934 in Harlem, NY to parents Harry and Mary Defini.  As an infant, her family moved to the Bronx where she lived until moving to Trumbull CT in 1960.  She was predeceased by her husband of 64 years, George and is survived by daughters Georjean and Christine (Stephan Tanski).  From 1974 until retirement, she worked for the Commercial Underwriting Division at Aetna Life & Casualty.

Rosemary loved to travel and was able to visit the UK, Canada, Belgium, Hawaii and all over the continental US (including annual trips to Walt Disney World and an epic journey up the Pacific Coast Highway). Her fondest memories were of the summers she spent on her aunt’s farm in upstate New York as a child.  She was a voracious reader, with a particular affinity for mysteries and British historical fiction.  She was a huge Anglophile who could never get enough of all things English, including [but not limited to] afternoon tea and scones, Yorkshire pudding, Downton Abbey, Are You Being Served and all that messy royal family drama.  And throughout her life she was a devoted pet mommy to many dogs, cats, guinea pigs, birds and fish.  She was a tough, smart and loving woman who will be deeply missed.
