Rosa Savona

Rosa Savona, age 90, of Stratford, CT, passed away March 4, 2024 in her home, surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Sciara, Sicily to the late Pietro and Filippa DiNuovo. 
Rosa enjoyed gardening, tending to her tomatoe plants and taking long walks; however her favorite pastime was cooking for her family, especially her famous lasagna, chicken cutlets, and her sauce.

She was predeceased by her beloved husband Antonino Savona, her brother Giuseppe DiNuovo,  her sisters Maria Galeoto and Concetta DiNuovo.

Survivors include her devoted children Nicasio Savona and his wife Doreen and Francesca Savona De Pietro, cherished granddaughter Rebecca DePietro, her brother Michael DiNuovo and his wife Nella, her sisters Stefana DiNuovo and Phyllis Gristina and many nieces and nephews.

Friends and family are invited to attend her funeral services on Thursday at 10:00 a.m. at the Cyril F. Mullins Funeral Home, 399 White Plains Rd., Trumbull, CT and at 11:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Grace Church, 497 Second Hill Lane, Stratford, CT for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment to follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Trumbull, CT. Friends and family may pay their respects on Wednesday from 4-7 p.m. at the funeral home.
