Robert L. Richard, age 94, of Stratford, CT, passed away September 10, 2024 surrounded by his loving family.
Bob was born in Ware, MA on July 31, 1930, the son of Aime and Bridget Richard.
He served in the United States Air Force, during the Korean War as a radar mechanic. He and his wife Dolores relocated to Connecticut.
In time Bob earned a degree in electrical engineering. He held several positions and retired after ending his career at the University of Bridgeport as the director of their engineering co op education.
Bob was an active member of the St. Mark Church community. He was also very involved in the town of Stratford, from politics to local events and the Shakespeare restoration. A relaxing Sunday was watching the Patriots or NASCAR. In 2017, he made it to the Daytona 500 with his son and grandson.
Bob was loving, kind and considerate; always willing to help. May his spirit live on in us.
He leaves behind his wife of 68 yrs., Dolores (Bigda) Richard. His son Jim L. Richard, daughter Charlene and her husband Tony Ciccaglione, grandchildren Christie ( Miles), Amy (Brian) and AJ, great grandchildren Cora and Lucy.
Friends and family are invited to attend his funeral services on Monday, September 16, 2024 at 10:15 a.m. at the Cyril F. Mullins Funeral Home, 399 White Plains Rd. Trumbull and at 11:00 a.m. at St. Mark's Church, 500 Wigwam Lane, Stratford. Burial to follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery with full military honors. Friends may pay their respects on Monday morning from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service.
