Robert Emmett O'Sullivan, 85, of Trumbull died June 17, 2025. Born November 28, 1939 in Milford to Daniel Francis and Teresa Bannon O'Sullivan. Bob was the 7th child of 8, 4 girls followed by 4 boys, and the last of the O'Sullivan family from Milford Point Road. Bobby loved growing up on the beach and fondly and regularly shared many stories of his time there, crabbing, swimming, sailing, and getting sunburnt.
Bob graduated from Milford High School in 1958. As a teen, Bob worked for Secondi Bros. and then joined the Heat and Frost Insulators Union, Local #33 of Wallingford. He was an active union member and his work took him to power plants throughout the northeast. Bob later worked for the Board of Education of the City of Bridgeport for over 25 years.
Bob was a member of the Milford Elks, the Knights of Columbus Council at Christ the King Church in Trumbull & the Gaelic American Club. He was very active in the Bridgeport/Fairfield Irish community as a member of the Ancient Order of Hibernians, JFK Division 1, having served in many positions from Historian through President, and on the Fairfield County and Connecticut state boards. Bob was on the Greater Bridgeport St Patrick's Day Parade Committee for many years and was honored to be Parade Grand Marshal in 2004. Bob’s greatest joy was spending time with his beloved wife Ginger and their family and friends.
In addition to his parents, Robert was preceded in death by his wife, Regina Travers, his 7 cherished siblings and their spouses: Mary McGovern, Eileen (Jerry) Miller, Theresa (Frank) Kennedy, Geraldine (Bill) Curley, Jeremiah James, Edward (Gail), and Daniel (Susan) O'Sullivan. Bob was predeceased by two beloved children: Patricia and Michael O'Sullivan. Robert is survived by his children, Shawn (Laura) of Hamden, Cindi of Florida, Dan (Becky) of Brooklyn, Rita (Steve) of Maryland, and Teresa (Tim) of Trumbull, as well as his grandchildren, Michael, Robert, Erin, Shawn, Kristen, Abigail, Margaret, Seamus, Nora, Amelia, Coraline and Bellamy, and many special nieces, nephews & cousins.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Trumbull Senior Senior Center, which provided Bob valuable engagement and community in his later years.
Friends and family are invited to pay their respects on Sunday from 2-5 p.m. at the Cyril F. Mullins Funeral Home, 399 White Plains Rd. Trumbull, CT. His funeral service will be held on Monday at 10:00 a.m. directly at St. Mary' Church, Gulf St., Milford, CT. Burial to follow in St. Mary's Cemetery.
