Richard Joseph Donnelly Sr.

Richard Joseph Donnelly Sr., age 91, of Stratford, passed away June 19, 2024 in his home. He was born in Bridgeport, CT to the late Thomas and Margaret Donnelly. He was a retired electrician for Local # 488. Mr. Donnelly enjoyed taking trips to the casinos with his late wife Jean (Bagoly) Donnelly. He also loved working in his yard and being outside. His favorite meal was ravioli, which his daughter-in-law, Diane cooked often and lovingly.

  
In addition to his beloved wife of 65 years, Jean (Bagoly) Donnelly, he was predeceased by his two sisters Joan Harper and Barbara Fritz.

Survivors include his devoted children, Richard J. Donnelly Jr. and his wife Diane; and Kathleen Pierson and her husband Bill; four loving grandchildren Richard J. Donnelly III and his wife Ryce, Kelly Donnelly, Billy Pierson and Erika Pierson; three cherished great grandchildren Madison Donnelly, Lucas King and Richard J. Donnelly IV and many nieces and nephews.

The family thanks his beloved caretaker, Neen Faulkner for her care and compassion.

Friends and family are invited to attend his funeral services on Tuesday at 10:15 a.m. at the Cyril F. Mullins Funeral Home, 399 White Plains Rd. Trumbull and at 11:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Grace Church, 497 Second Hill Lane, Stratford, CT. Burial to follow in St. John's Cemetery, Stratford. Friends may call on Monday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
