Patricia (Patty) Gallagher Eng, age 72, of Monroe, CT passed away June 28, 2021 in her home surrounded by her loving family. Patty was born in Bridgeport, CT to the late Hugh and Anne Gallagher and grew up in Trumbull, CT.
Patty has made a career of caring for people. First and foremost, she loved and cared for her children, a vocation that she embraced with her entire being. Before becoming a devoted mother, she worked as a CCU nurse for many years at Park City Hospital. Later, she chose to pursue bachelor's and master's degrees to become a social worker in the Bridgeport Public School System. She embraced the difficult challenges the students faced and became affectionately known as "Miss Patty", impacting the lives of many young people. She was a person of great faith and was very spiritual in her approach to life. She inspired everyone she met to be the best version of themselves.
She loved the outdoors, natural beauty, gardening, and had a special fondness for monarch butterflies. She loved to travel with Vic and enjoyed many visits to sites all over the world, including North America, Ireland, Lourdes, Fatima, Assisi, Mexico, and taking river cruises throughout Europe and China. She also enjoyed watching her grandchildren celebrate milestones, including athletic and academic achievements. She participated in parish programs, book clubs, and study groups.
Patty loved everyone she met and everybody loved her in return. We are all truly blessed to have known Patty and are enriched by her faith and outlook on life.
She is survived by her beloved husband Victor J. Eng; her devoted children, Missy and her husband Xavier Egurbide, V.J. and his wife Eileen Eng, and Tim and his wife Noy Eng; four loving brothers and sisters, Peggy and her husband Bill Fry, Pam and her husband John Arsenault, Hugh and his wife Diane Gallagher, and Ray and his wife Kathy Gallagher; six cherished grandchildren Xavi, Kayla, Amelia, Ethan, Ava and Liam and a host of nieces and nephews.
