It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Pamela O’Leary, a longtime resident of Monroe, CT. Pam passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by her family, on September 5, 2025, after a courageous battle with Parkinson’s Disease. She was 74 years old.
Pam was born on April 6, 1951, in Norwalk, CT, to the late Raymond and Esther (Rasmussen) Somers. She was raised in Fairfield, CT, and Pam was a proud graduate of Roger Ludlowe High School. In 1993, she purchased a house in Monroe on a former goat dairy farm. This fixer-upper had pink and purple walls – a hopeless situation at first. After years of hard work, renovation and her keen eye for interior design, her now-breathtaking home on Dingley Dell will live on as her proudest achievement. For nearly 30 years, Pam enjoyed a successful career as a real estate agent, most of which she spent working at Nicholas H. Fingelly Real Estate in Southport, CT.
Pam’s love for Christmas was unmatched. From candles glowing in every window, expertly wrapped presents, every detail mattered in creating the perfect holiday for her family. Those closest to her will desperately miss her cooking, specifically her chocolate chip cookies and herb cheese.
Pam is survived by her devoted husband, Arthur O'Leary; her sons Dane Hanson of NYC, and Erik Hanson, his wife Shannon, and their cherished daughter, Lumi, of Salem, MA, her stepson Aaron O’Leary, his wife, Amy, and their son, Arthur of Stratford, CT. She is also survived by her brother Peter Somers and his wife Carol of Orange, CA.
Pam will be remembered for her love for her family, her sense of humor and her remarkable strength in the face of adversity.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Pam’s memory to the Michael J. Fox Foundation.
Friends and family may pay their respects on Thursday, September 11 from 4-6 p.m. at the Cyril F. Mullins Funeral Home, 399 White Plains Rd., Trumbull, CT. All are invited to attend her funeral which will begin at Cyril F. Mullins Funeral Home on Friday, September 12 at 10:00 a.m. Burial will be at Oak Lawn Cemetery, Fairfield.
