Nancy Mary Keese

Nancy Mary (Smith) Keese, age 90, of Trumbull, CT passed away peacefully on November 8 th ,2023. She was born in Bridgeport, CT, daughter of the late Frank and Hazel Smith. Nancy was a proud 1951 graduate of Lauralton Hall and was a secretary at Singer's Manufacturing in Bridgeport, CT before she left to raise her 3 daughters. When her daughters were raised she worked part time at Macy's Department Store until her retirement. She will be greatly missed by her family who was of utmost importance to her.

Nancy was devoted to her Catholic faith and attended mass daily at St. Stephen’s Church inTrumbull for many years. She was selfless, humble, and a giver who cared passionately for her own parents and aunts before they were deceased. Her family was her world and her main priority in life. She greatly cherished her time spent with her four grandchildren. She also treasured family meals, trips and cruises celebrating milestone birthdays and anniversaries and was at her happiest when everyone was together. Her world opened in her later years when she got her first passport and regularly traveled to England to visit her daughter with her husband.

She enjoyed exploring England and seeing new destinations in Europe such as Rome, Florence, Paris, Ireland, and Germany. Nancy was an avid walker at the Trumbull Mall where she made long lasting friendships over a daily walk and comforting cup of tea. She was a nurturer and a big force of nature tied up in a small package and was loved by all who knew her.
She is survived by her beloved husband of 65 years, Ralph Keese; devoted daughters Sharon Tilley and her husband Jack, Susan Keese, and Sally Ferri and her husband Jeffrey; cherished grandchildren Jonathan, Sarah, Matthew and Meghan; her treasured sister-in-law Diane Smith; nieces and nephews Donald Smith Jr., Julie Smith DeMaio, Douglas Smith; cousins and grandnieces and nephews and their families. She was predeceased by her brother Donald Smith Sr. and her niece Cathleen Smith.

The family wishes to thank the caring staff at Cambridge Health & Rehabilitation Center, and in particular her aide Nancy, for their dedication, attention and always making her smile and  Constellation Health Hospice team for their supportive care.

Friends and family are invited to attend her funeral services on Wednesday at  10:15 a.m. at the Cyril F. Mullins Funeral Home, 399 White Plains Rd. Trumbull and at 11:00 a.m. at St. Stephen's Church, 6948 Main St. Trumbull, CT. Interment in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Trumbull, CT. Friends may pay their respects on Wednesday from 9:00 a.m. until 10:15 a.m.
