Myrtle J. Anderson

Myrtle J. Anderson, age 94, of Monroe, CT, passed away June 16, 2024 in the comfort of her home. She was born in Bridgeport, CT  daughter of the late Otto and Ella Schiller. She and her late husband were the proprietors of Anderson's Nursery. In Monroe.  Myrtle was a charter member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church and loved her Church. She enjoyed sewing, canning, bowling and reading Danielle Steele novels. Myrtle was a member of the Monroe Senior Center and enjoyed playing bingo with her friends she made at the center. Above all, her family was  most important  to her. She will be sadly missed.

She was predeceased by her beloved husband, G. Leonard Anderson, her sisters Wilma Muldoon and Caroline Hultgren and her brother Edwin Schiller and her son-in-law Don Torok.

She is survived by her devoted daughters, Linda Torok, Diane (Douglas) Plude and Carol (Al) Galonczyk, five loving grandchildren, Christopher (Lindsay) Plude,  Mirissa (Josh) Cappiello , Andrew (Jordan) Plude, Nicole (Matt) Hays and Brett Galonczyk, six cherished great grandchildren Arianna, Luciano, Easton, Emersyn, Evynn and Lily and many nieces and nephews. 

Friends and family are invited to attend her funeral services on Wednesday, June 26, 2024  at 11:30a.m. at Holy Cross Lutheran Church, 5995 Main St. Trumbull, CT, with the Reverend Nathan Erb officiating. Interment in Long Hill Cemetery. Friends may pay their respects on Wednesday morning from 9:30 a.m. -11 a.m. at the funeral home. 

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Holy Cross Lutheran Church (holycrosstrumbull.org).
