Michael John Rolleri, Sr.

Michael John Rolleri, Sr. age 69, of Trumbull, CT, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Sunday, October 27, 2024 after a courageous battle with cancer.  Mike was born in Bridgeport, CT on January 16,1955 to John Dominic, Sr. and Anna Susan (Duva) Rolleri.  Mike is predeceased by his father, mother, brother, John Dominic Rolleri, Jr. and stepfather, Harold Miller. He is survived by his beloved wife Sara and his four children, Lisa Ann (Brian) Coutermash of Narrowsburg, NY; Jacqueline Susan (Aaron) Rolleri Seligson of Annapolis, MD; Michael John Rolleri, Jr. of Trumbull, CT and Matthew Francis Rolleri of Twin Falls, ID. 

Mike grew up in Bridgeport, going to St. Rafael’s Church and Kolbe Cathedral High School. He attended Bridgeport University, obtaining a Bachelors in Accounting and The University of Connecticut where he earned his MBA in Accounting.  Mike worked for a few years at Arthur Andersen and finally settled in Trumbull where he partnered with Tom Whelan and Paul DePietro to create the accounting firm of Whelan, Rolleri, & DePietro. At the same time, he began his teaching career at the University of New Haven and was an Associate Professor for 42 years.  While at the university, he also served as the Chair of Accounting, Finance, and Marketing until he retired in 2021.  Mike loved teaching students and was the favorite teacher and colleague of many, earning the Outstanding Faculty Teaching Award in 2017 and Dean’s Excellence in Service Award in 2020.  Mike also thoroughly enjoyed helping his many clients, many of whom he considered his dear friends.  Most of all, Mike loved raising his children and spending time with his wife. He spent many years leading the Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts for his sons, teaching life long skills and camping on the cold, hard ground.  His favorite hobbies included hunting, fishing, and spending time with his family in Vermont. 

Friends and family are invited to celebrate Mike’s life on Sunday, November 3, 2024 at 2 pm at Nichols United Methodist Church, 35 Shelton Rd. Trumbull. Interment will be private. Friends may greet the family on Saturday, November 2, 2024 from 1-4 pm at the Cyril F. Mullins Funeral Home, 399 White Plains Rd. Trumbull, CT.
