Michael was predeceased by his wife, Kimberly and his father George Sr.

Mike was a longtime resident of Bridgeport, CT, attending St. Charles Borromeo School and was a graduate of St. Joseph High School in Trumbull, CT.  Immediately after graduation, Mike enlisted in the U.S. Army, serving for a year in Vietnam where he was awarded the Bronze Star with Valor commendation.  Mike returned home to Bridgeport after his service and worked as a self employed painter.
Mike enjoyed outdoor activities including camping, hunting and fishing as well as playing softball with the East Side Wrecking Softball Team. Mike never turned down a request from a friend which is how he became endeared to many as "Uncle" Mike.  Michael will be remembered for his great spirit, the twinkle in his eye and his beaming smile.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be directed to Voluntary Services at the Veterans Medical Center in West Haven, CT in memory of Michael Lawler or to the Disabled American Veterans Transportation Program in Michael's memory.
The family would like to thank the attentive and supportive staff of the Surgical ICU at the VA for their respectful care and concern for Mike and his family during his hospitalization.
