Michael Thomas Golden, age 94 of Trumbull CT, formerly of North Bellmore, NY passed away peacefully on October 31, 2024.  He was the devoted husband of 68 years to the late Marguerite Mary Golden. Born and raised in Brooklyn and Queens, he was the son of the late Michael and Minerva Golden. Mike was a dedicated husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather who committed his life to his faith, family, and country.

Mike proudly served in the U.S. Army Airborne Division and Military Police during the post- WWII era. He earned Parachutist and Gliderman Badges and was awarded Japanese Occupation and WWII Victory medals. Following his honorable discharge, Mike enjoyed a 40-year career with the NY Telephone Company as a lineman and installer implementing complex telecommunication systems at major airports and businesses in New York City and Long Island. During his long and active retirement, Mike enjoyed a second career as a country line dance instructor, inspiring a large contingent of enthusiastic students. He was also a celebrated, self-taught watercolor artist with his paintings displayed at public shows and brightening the homes of many.

Mike was an inspiring role model and mentor who gave tirelessly of his time and treasure to help the less fortunate and correct injustice.  A devout Roman Catholic, Mike held leadership positions in the Holy Name Society and Knights of Columbus organizations at St. Barnabas Church in Bellmore, NY.  After moving to CT, he was embraced by St. Teresa K of C Council #2961 at Christ the King Church and led rosary prayer groups at Spring Meadows and Mozaic Senior Living residences.

Mike was a faithful fan of his children’s sporting events, concerts, plays and dance recitals. He wouldn’t miss the annual Army – Navy football game and relished many sunny days on Long Island and New Jersey beaches with his family and friends. Mike was also known to enjoy the fun and excitement of the Atlantic City and Connecticut slot machines.

Survivors include his children, Michael P. Golden (Deborah), Timothy Golden (Carol), Marguerite Langlais (Donald) and Maureen Hance (James); nine grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
