Marguerite Mary Golden, age 91, of Trumbull CT, formerly of North Bellmore NY, died peacefully on September 11,2021. Born and raised in Cambria Heights NY, she was the daughter of the late Cecilia and William D. Loughran. Marge was a devoted wife, loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend to all. She is survived by her husband Michael T. Golden of 68 years and four children, Michael P. Golden (Deborah), Timothy Golden (Carol), Marguerite Langlais (Donald) and Maureen Hance (James); 9 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, brothers John Loughran (Joan),Philip Loughran (Patricia) ,cousin Paul Loughran (Joelle) and many nieces and nephews. She was pre-deceased by her sister Cecilia Donnelly (Edward), and brother William D.Loughran Jr. (Barbara)
Early in her career, Marge was a secretary for the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of New York in Manhattan. After raising her children, she returned to the workforce in various clerical positions in the Bellmore-Merrick School District, and later coordinated volunteers at the A. Holly Patterson Extended Care Facility in Uniondale, NY. She enjoyed a long and active retirement, volunteering at St. Barnabas Church, Bellmore NY, and for Right to Life programs. She loved dancing, music, crafts and being surrounded by her family and many friends. She freely shared these passions, documenting them in her extensive photo album collection. Her faith, energy and love of life inspired all those fortunate enough to know her.
A Private Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Stephen Church, Trumbull CT. Inurnment in the State Veterans Cemetery, Middletown, CT.
