Leslie Young Vega
Obituary
Leslie Young Vega, 62 of Newtown, CT entered eternal peace on September 14, 2022 after a very long journey with T-cell Lymphoma. She grew up in Milford and Monroe, CT, graduated from Masuk High School and attended Becker Jr. College.
She worked at St. Vincent's Hospital in the cardiac rehab department as a technician; for Brooklawn County Club as an assistant to the manager; and at New England Kitchen Design as a receptionist, but her most treasured and important job was as a mother to her son Richard. Leslie cherished time spent with her family and friends, a good steak and bottle of wine, walking at the beach and shopping.
She is survived by her son Richard Edwin Vega, her mother Peggie Young, her sister Cynthia Young McCurdy and her husband Hank and their children Katie, John and Harrison McCurdy. She was predeceased by her father Dick Young, her brother Richard Young and her husband Ed Vega.
The family wishes to thank her friend and caregiver Emma for her love and care of Leslie; Regional Hospice for the exemplary care and support to Leslie and her family; and the staff at Lord Chamberlain.
A memorial service will be held at St. Peter’s Episcopal Church, 175 Old Tannery Road, Monroe, CT on Friday, October 14th at 1:00 pm.
