Leokadja Kaminski

Leokadja Kaminski, age 94, of Fairfield, CT, passed away March 3, 2024 in her home, surrounded by her family. She always wanted to remain in her home, and her youngest daughter, Maryann, insured that that wish was fulfilled. 

Lee was born in Canada to the late Joseph and Michalina Ryskiewicz.  Family meant more than anything to her.  She was always devoted to her family and her faith.  She was ordained to the Secular Order of Franciscans on May 4, 2004.  She was a sincerely prayerful person who opened her arms, her heart, and her home to everyone without judgement.

She was predeceased by her husband Edward L. Kaminski on January 29th of this year. They had celebrated their 75th wedding anniversary on September 4, 2023.

She was also predeceased by her sons, Joseph and Edward Kaminski, her grandson Samuel Kaminski, her sisters Helen Kondracki and Genevieve Couture.

She is survived by her three devoted children Lorraine Art and her husband Lawrence, Timothy Kaminski and his wife Diana, and Maryann Tallon; eight loving grandchildren; six cherished great grandchildren, her sister Marianne Kowalczyk, and many nieces and nephews.

A joint celebration of life for her and her husband will be held on Friday, March 8, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. directly at Our Lady of the Assumption Church, 545 Stratfield Rd. Fairfield, CT. Burial to follow in Lawncroft Cemetery, Fairfield, CT. 

 If you intend to attend the services, please do not use any scents due to severe allergies of several family members. 

It was the desire of Lee that no flowers be sent for her funeral.  If you choose, memorial contributions may be made to Assumption Church.
