Josephine Ann Galante

Josephine Ann (JoAnn) Galante, age 85, of Trumbull, formerly of Ridgefield, CT and Lexington, KY, passed away April 26, 2021 in her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Queens, NY to the late William Groom and Marie Clark, and grew up in Cedarhurst, NY. JoAnn was a graduate of SUNY Oneonta College of Education. She began teaching in Islip, NY, and also taught for many years in Ridgefield and Lexington. JoAnn enjoyed knitting and gardening, but most of all she loved entertaining and  spending time with family and friends. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend.

JoAnn is survived by her beloved husband  of 61 years, Frank J. Galante; five children Jackie Galante of Trumbull, Frank Galante of Newtown, Michael Galante of New York City, Jim Galante and his wife Sherry Lynn Burke of Baltimore MD, and Christopher Galante of Trumbull; her brother William Groom of Wantagh, NY; two cherished granddaughters Natalie and Gillian of Newtown, and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sister Lin Hansen. 

 Friends and family are invited to attend her services on Saturday May 22, at 11:00 a.m. at Christ the King Church, 4700 Lake Ave. Trumbull, CT. Inurnment to follow in Mt. Grove of Easton Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Operation Hope (https://operationhopect.org/ ).
