Joseph M. Urban

Joseph M. Urban, age 90, of Stratford, CT, passed away peacefully on November 7, 2024 in his home with his loving family by his side. He was born in Hazleton, PA to the late Michael and Julia Urban. He was a proud Air Force Veteran who served during the Korean War. He attended Norwalk Technical College where he earned his Associates Degree. He later worked at Remington Arms and Avco Lycoming as a tool and die maker. Joe was gifted with creating complex and detailed wooden and metal objects, including a beautiful fireplace mantle, several grandfather clocks and jewelry. After retiring, he loved working at his son's store where he enjoyed the customer camaraderie and a scratch off or two.

Survivors include his beloved wife of 67 years, Geraldine (Gerlach) Urban, four devoted children whom he loved dearly, Mary Jo Crowell and her husband Charles, Jonathan Urban and his wife Kim, Amy Alfano and her husband Joseph and Michael Urban and his wife Hala; two cherished grandchildren Austin Urban and Tanner Urban and his wife Ashton. He was predeceased by his siblings Anna Payne, Michael Trugon, Celia Bove and Shirley Medoff.

Friends and family are invited to attend his funeral services on Thursday, November 21, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Mark's Church, 500 Wigwam Lane Stratford, CT. Calling hours and burial will be private.
