John Najarian, age 96, of Trumbull, passed away April 5, 2026 in his home. He was born in Stamford, CT in 1929 to the late Zakar and Mariam Najarian. His parents met in NYC where they had both immigrated having left Armenia to escape the Armenian Genocide happening in their home land. His parents later established a home in Stamford where they raised John and his sister Novart.
John met Irene Young, who had recently moved to the States from Nova Scotia, Canada. They married in 1956 and had two children, Ken Najarian and Cheryl Labrecque. Survivors of John’s family are Kenneth Najarian, his wife Daphne and their children Ariel and Danielle Najarian, and his daughter Cheryl Labrecque, her husband Norman and their children Cole Epler, her husband Dylan and Michael Labrecque. John had several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his beloved wife Irene (Young) Najarian and his sister Novart and her husband Casper Casparian.
John worked as an electrical technician at Norden Systems and Perkin Elmer, he also worked as a tutor at Sacred Heart University and Housatonic Community College, tutoring students in both math and chemistry. John began studying violin in his early twenties and later enjoyed playing as an amateur violinist in local orchestras. John’s hobbies were listening to classical music, raising plants and flowers, especially roses, and reading and learning. John especially enjoyed hearing stories of his grandchildren’s successes and interests.
Friends and family are invited to pay their respects on Thursday, April 9, 2026 from 5-8 p.m. at the Cyril F. Mullins Funeral Home, 399 White Plains Rd. Trumbull.
