John H. “Jack” Kelly, 93, passed away peacefully in his home surrounded by his loving family on May 17, 2022. Born in Green Island, NY, son of the late Eugene and Mildred VanBuren Kelly, Jack served his country in the US Marine Corps during World War II. Jack began working for the Bendix Corporation in Green Island in the 1940s, moving to Cleveland, TN in 1967. Jack’s career then took him to South Bend, IN, Jackson, TN, Trumbull, CT and Hamilton, NY. He had been employed as VP and General Manager of Automotive Aftermarket Division of the Bendix Corp, leaving that position in 1975. He joined Raybestos-Manhattan Corp in Trumbull, CT as Director of Planning for Raybestos International until 1980 then was the Strategic Planning Director for American Management Association until forming Hamilton Strategic Management Group as Executive VP and then Chairman of the Board. Jack and his beloved late wife, Mary retired to Voorheesville, NY in 1993 and moved to Trumbull, CT in March of 2018. Jack's wife Mary Lovenguth predeceased him; A devoted Father of John F. Kelly, Jean M. Cusick, Kathleen Price, Patricia A. Kelly and the late William M. Kelly; brother of Mary Kelly and James Kelly of Nevada and the late Rev. Donald F. Kelly, Robert, Eugene, Richard and William Warren Kelly. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. Jack’s most important role he was the proudest of is being a “loving Papa” to all his grandchildren and greats!
Friends and family are invited to attend his funeral services on Wednesday, June 1, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Stephen’s Church, 6948 Main St., Trumbull, CT. Friends may pay their respects on Wednesday from 9:00 a.m. to 10:15 a.m. at Cyril F. Mullins Funeral Home, 399 White Plains Rd., Trumbull, CT. Interment will take place the following day at the State Veterans Cemetery, 317 Bow Lane, Middletown, CT at 12:00 p.m. with Full Military Honors.
