Jocelyn Ellen Whelan, age 98, of Trumbull, passed away April 22, 2023 in her home. She was born in Waterbury, CT to the late John and Mary Waleski. She was a retired registered nurse, working in the operating room at St. Vincent's Medical Center. Prior to that she was a nurse cadet during WWII. Mrs. Whelan enjoyed traveling with family and friends, shopping and reading.
She was predeceased by her husband Raymond T. Whelan and her sister Rose Mary Johnston. She is survived by her devoted children Thomas R. Whelan and his wife Barbara, James R. Whelan and his wife Diane and Janet M. Whelan and her husband Paul Aillet; loving grandchildren Jocelyn Porzelt, Rachel Whelan and Alicia Altobelli; four cherished great grandchildren Sam, Raymond, Parker and Olivia.
Her family expresses their deepest gratitude for the kind and loving care she received from Barbara Lewis, her care giver for the last two years and their appreciation to Hartford Health Hospice Services nurses for their excellent service and compassion.
Friends and family are invited to attend her funeral services on Wednesday at 11:00 a.m the Cyril F. Mullins Funeral Home, 399 White Plains Rd. Trumbull, CT.
