Jeane B. Norkus, age 92, entered into eternal rest August 5, 2021 at CT Hospice, Branford. Jeane was born in Tobyhanna, PA, and was the only daughter of the late Arthur and Viola Browning. Older brothers were George and Robert. The family moved to CT in 1945. Jeane worked as an Operator for AT&T. She met her beloved husband, Edward, a resident of Bridgeport, at Seaside Park. Trumbull later became home, and they raised their children, Michele and Mark there. Jeane was a vibrant, loving, giving, free-spirited woman with boundless energy. Jeane loved all people with all of her heart. She played a pivotal role in the raising of her children, offering any and all opportunity to thrive. From trips to the library, to walks along country roads, volunteering both in school and out - Jeane was there. Her endless capacity to give and help others was perhaps her greatest gift. Jeane enjoyed gardening, sewing, cooking, being a gracious hostess, swimming, shopping, traveling, and learning. She was a lover of life - and lived it to the fullest. Jeane always had a smile, was forever the optimist, and was entirely resilient. Upon the loss of her husband - Jeane exhibited her commitment to family by working with SNET for many years.
Jeane is not only survived by her two loving children - Michele Bergeron of Newtown, and Mark Norkus of Derby - but the following family members: beloved son-in-law, Daniel, also of Newtown - and three cherished grandchildren - Chanelle, Andrew, and Alexandra Bergeron.
