James T Cavanaugh, age 74, of Stratford, entered eternal rest on June 5, 2024, at Bridgeport Hospital, surrounded by his loving family. He was the cherished husband of Linda Cavanaugh.
James was born on April 13, 1950, to Elizabeth and James Cavanaugh in Bridgeport, Connecticut. Alongside his brother Timothy, he grew up in Bridgeport, attending St. Ambrose before graduating from Bullard Havens with a technical focus in print shop.
A former Army Reservist, James dedicated himself to various roles throughout his life, including as a printer at Kurk & Volk Printing, Raybestos, and Exxon/Mobil Chemical Corporation slitting dept, and lastly Kohls.
James enjoyed fishing, cooking-especially dinner, NASCAR, walking along the beach and cherished quality time with his beloved family.
James leaves behind a legacy of love and memories that will be forever cherished by his wife, Linda Cavanaugh; his daughters Stacey Tejeda (Patrick) of San Antonio and Amy Jagiello (Edward) of Oxford; his six grandchildren, Gabriella, Nathalia, Isabella, Jessica, Allison, and Daniel; his brother Timothy; and his son and daughter, Shawn and Erin.
James touched the lives of many with his kindness, humor, and unwavering love. He will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Friends and family are invited to attend his funeral services on Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. directly at Holy Name of Jesus Church, 1950 Barnum Ave. Stratford, CT. Interment to follow in St. Michael's Cemetery, Stratford, CT. Friends may pay their respects on Monday from 4-7 p.m. at the Cyril F. Mullins Funeral Home, 399 White Plains Rd. Trumbull, CT.
