Ida C. Demore

Ida Conte (Battaglia) Demore, age 99, of Trumbull, devoted wife of the late John Battaglia and of the late Carl Demore with whom she shared 53 years of marriage, passed away peacefully on October 13, 2024 at Bishop Wicke Health and Rehab.  Ida was born in Bridgeport to the late Antoinetta Conte on November 17, 1924.  Upon retirement she and Carl moved from Trumbull to Florida where they lived for seven years before returning to Trumbull.  They frequently enjoyed returning to Florida and traveling to Italy to visit family and friends.  Ida always had a smile for everyone and loved dancing, bingo, cooking and socializing with friends.  Most of all Ida loved her family and Carl’s family unconditionally and equally, and that love was returned to her by all. 

Ida is predeceased by husbands John and Carl; brothers Adolph, John, and Anthony; sisters Rose DeCarlo, Katherine Herring, Helen Pavone, Mary Armentano, and Virginia Marshall; Carl’s son Carl J. Demore, Jr, his granddaughter Stephanie Demore Dunshee, and his great-grandson Jameson Murray.  She is survived by her sister Vivian Mottola; and Carl’s daughter Marilyn Morey (William), his grandchildren Stacyann Taylor (James), William Morey, Jr. (Liane), Jason Morey (Gianna), and Elizabeth Forsberg (James & Jaxxson Murray), his great-grandchildren Jenna Persico (Michael), Krysta Taylor, Giancarlo Morey, Cole and Hannah Forsberg, Shelby and Zoey Murray and great grandchild Gabriel Dunshee.

Friends are invited to greet Ida’s family on Wednesday, October 16 from  4-7 PM at the Cyril F. Mullins Funeral Home, 399 White Plains Rd, Trumbull, CT.  A funeral mass will be held on Thursday October 17, 2024 at 10:30 a.m. at  Christ the King Church, 4700 Madison Avenue, Trumbull, CT.  Interment will follow in St. Michael's Cemetery, Stratford, CT. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the St. Jude Children’s Hospital Tribute 24161449 (www.stjude.org), 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105. The family extends their sincerest gratitude to the entire staff of Bishop Wicke Health and Rehab and Wesley Heights for allowing her to live her final years in friendship and comfort.
