Helen Katharine (Soukup) Taylor, age 102, of Cheshire CT passed away peacefully July 10, 2021. She was born in Trumbull, CT December 27, 1918 to the late William and Mary Soukup. She graduated from Bassick High School. She was an active member of Long Hill Baptist Church and worked in the Newtown School system for many years.
Helen was a beautiful woman in every sense of the word. She was gracious and kind, she loved entertaining and was well known for her potato salad and pie recipes. She had a good- natured competitive spirit, loved playing games and watching football and soccer, especially if her grandchildren were involved. She had a genuine contagious laugh, a beautiful singing voice, and a true appreciation for the things God created. She loved her German Shepherds, bird watching, traveling, and music. Helen spent her entire life pouring into the two things that she loved the most in this world. First, her relationship with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, and secondly, her family. She made sure that every member of her family was brought before God every night, and prayed for by name. Every name, every night.
Helen was predeceased by the love of her life, her devoted husband Raymond James Taylor Sr. and her great granddaughter, Naomi Grace Tyrrell. She is survived by her four devoted children, Raymond and his wife Linda Taylor Jr, MaryLou and her husband Donald Greer, Bettyann and Ronald Hardy and Donnalynn and her husband John Naeher; twelve loving grandchildren, 28 cherished great grandchildren and 10 great great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be private. Interment in Trumbull Center Cemetery. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
