HAROLD THOMAS GARVEY, JR. (1937 – 2021)
Harold Thomas Garvey, Jr. (Tom), beloved husband of Amelia passed away in Bridgeport, CT on August 6, 2021. He was born on March 21, 1937, in Bridgeport, CT to Harold Thomas Garvey, Sr. and Helen Barbara Demko. He married Amelia May Lukomske in 1965. Tom was an honor graduate of St. Cyril & Methodius Commercial High School. He attended the University of Alaska and graduated from the Warren Institute and the University of Bridgeport. Before retiring, he worked as a Financial/Administrative executive at Precision Resource, Inc. formerly known as Connecticut Fineblanking Corporation. Over the years, he also worked at Tifon Jewelers, Dictaphone, Dorr Oliver, and National Filter Media. He was a member of the Trumbull’s Personnel, CEP teacher and member of the Parish Education Board at Christ the King Church, served on the Accounting Advisory Council of Quinnipiac College, former director of the Hamden Chamber of Commerce, chairman of the Hamden Manufacturing Council, active in various civic and community programs including the Boy Scouts Explorer program, Junior Achievement and the Jaycees. He was also a Little League baseball coach as well as a basketball coach for his son’s teams. Tom was in the Air Force from 1958 to 1962 and was honorably discharged.
In addition to his wife, Tom is survived by his children Kimberly Garvey (fiancé Rich Martinez), Kristine Kudey (husband Edmund Kudey, Jr.), Kerri Garvey and Kevin Garvey (wife Meghan Garvey) and his grandchildren Edmund Kudey, III (Eddie), Thomas Kudey (Tommy), Colton Garvey and Lochlan Garvey.
Friends may call on Monday, August 16, 2021 from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Cyril F. Mullins Funeral Home, 399 White Plains Rd. Trumbull, CT.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, August 17, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. with the Reverend Terrance Walsh officiating at the funeral home. Interment in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Trumbull, CT.
