Grace E. Konen

Grace E. Konen, age 94, of Stratford, CT, passed away peacefully on June 13, 2022, with loving family by her side. She was born in Bridgeport and was a lifelong area resident. Grace lived with a love for life and her family. When not with her family, she spent her time playing pinochle and bocce with her friends at the Stratford Baldwin Center. She even celebrated being the bocce champion for two years in a row! Grace was a green thumb, tending diligently her flower gardens in her yard. Other than her family, there was nothing else that she loved more than the slots at the casino. Grace adored trips to the casino with her daughters- playing the slot machines, catching up on the latest news, and enjoying a special dinner together. Grace carried her sharp wit, keen sense of humor, and prevailing optimism throughout life. She was a generous woman, one of a kind, and a bright light in her family's lives. She will be missed greatly. 

She is survived by her 5 children, Donald Konen of CarmelNY, Nancy Anderson and her husband Bill Anderson of Rockport TX, Melissa Bartolomeo and her husband Bruce Bartolomeo of Berlin, CT, Melinda Costello and her husband Kevin Costello of Milford, CT, and Paul Valentine and his wife Marie of Stratford, CT. Grace had 10 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren and 7 great-great-grandchildren. Grace never missed a single birthday, sending gifts and cards to all family members. She was predeceased by her husband and daughter, Henry Konen and Deborah Konen, respectively, as well as her five brothers and sisters. At the request of the family, all funeral services are private.
