Gloria Yencho Obituary

Gloria M Yencho (MacDonald) was born to Chester A. and Margaret MacDonald on September 21, 1927 in Germantown Pennsylvania.
 She was a remarkable and very loving woman. At a very young age she assumed the role of “mother” to her four younger siblings. She raised them and cared for them for many years.
 In 1946 she met a young man named Stephen Yencho. They were married in 1947 and they were each others love for over 60 years, until her best friend and husband passed away in 2008.
 She started a career with the United States postal service as a clerk working her way up ending her 25 year career as a tour superintendent. Throughout her career she earned many awards. Her and her team of dedicated employees won the LSM Olympics many years in a row.
 Gloria was a devote Christian, saying the rosary to Mother Mary everyday while teaching others to do the same. Every Wednesday her and other women of the church would say the rosary. She belonged to St Ambrose Alter Society and Senior Citizens. She loved to volunteer at the school as well. When St Ambrose closed she became a member of Holy Name church.
 Gloria liked to go to the casino, play bingo, and scratch off tickets. She also liked to joined her sisters and their husbands to play cards. The thing that Gloria loved and adored the most was her family. She is survived by two sisters, June Croll (Calvin) of Milford and Lorraine Haynes of Milford. She is also survived by her four children, Stephen Yencho (Caroline) of San Diego, CA, Joe Yencho of Bridgeport CT, John Yencho (Julia) of Delaware, and Mary Burns (Mark) of Seymour, CT. Her 9 grandchildren, Joel (Laura), Heather (Brian), Brian (Sandra), Jay (Caitie), Kellee, Anthony (Becky), Alex (Penny), and Adam. Eleven great-grandchildren, Stephen, Isla Rose, Hannah, Grace, Ethan, Evan, Anthony, Alexandra, Skylar, Makenna, and Patrick. Two great-great-grandchildren, Aria and Jacob. She leaves behind many nieces and nephews that she loved very much.
 She is predeceased by her loving husband Stephen, her two brothers Chester and Donald MacDonald and sister Charlotte Richter.
 Whoever she was to you: Mother, Sister, Aunt, Grandmother or friend she will be ever etched upon our hearts.
Friends are invited to attend her funeral services on Saturday at 10:00 a.m. at Holy Name of Jesus Church, 1950 Barnum Ave., Stratford, CT. Interment in Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
