Gloria Nastu Obituary

Gloria Ann (Tudgay) Nastu, age 87, of Milford, CT, passed away April 6, 2026. She was born in Nanticoke, PA, to the late Earl and Ann Tudgay, parents who settled in Bridgeport, CT. She married the love of her life, Thomas, and raised her beloved girls, Lisa and Pamela, in their home on Wilcoxson Avenue in Stratford. She took great pride in her gardening, sewing, and hosting pool parties for her family and friends, which gave them so many lifelong memories. Gloria’s beauty, her beaming smile, infectious laughter, and red hair made her one of a kind.

She was an executive assistant for multiple corporations and taught English as a second language to many learners, changing their lives indelibly. A longtime member of the Junior Women's Club of Stratford, she embraced the community through many activities and charities.  Giving to others was most important to her.

Gloria’s deep and lasting faith was the most cherished aspect of her life.  As an active member of her church and community, she served for many years as a eucharistic minister at St. James Parish in Stratford.  Her life’s message would be to always be kind, help those in need, pray to the Lord, never stop ‘tap dancing”’ through life, and always fight fiercely for those you care about. Even through her illness of Alzheimer's, she never lost her ability to love deeply, and we felt that love every day.

She is survived by her devoted daughters, Lisa Nastu and Pamela Garrett; three cherished grandchildren, Hunter, Heather, and Harrison (father Paul Garrett and his mother Rosemary Garrett); her brother, Ronald Tudgay; and sisters, Patricia Pietrowski and her late husband, Bob, and Claudia Bisogno and the late Frank Bisogno.

Gloria had many loved nieces and nephews; Alicia Roma and husband Tony, Robert Pietrowski and wife Nalini, Nick Bisogno and wife Gina, Frank Bisogno, Marie Norko and the late Joe Norko her husband, John Nastu and wife Debra, Phil Nastu and the late Joyce Nastu wife, the late Raymond Nastu, Joanne Swoyer, nieces and nephews Madeline, Nancy, Susie, Marybeth, the late Raymond, Patricia and Christine, nephew the late Albert Chapar, Thomas Chapar; and sister in law’s, the late ‘Teta’ Frieda, Catherine, Stella and Uncle Al, and late brother in law’s Peter (late wife Rose) and Raymond Nastu (late wife Sophia) and many extended family members so dear to her.

Friends are invited to attend her services on Monday, April 13th at 9:30 a.m. at St. James Church, 2070 Main St., Stratford, CT. Burial to follow at St. John's Cemetery, Stratford, CT.
