Mrs. Gloria Delphina Frazer, daughter of the late Ann and James Jackson was born in Spring Garden, St. James, Jamaica, West Indies on January 4, 1937. She attended Northwestern Academy in Montego Bay, St. James, Jamaica. Her career path led her to Kingston where she worked at the Excelsior Biscuit Factory.
Affectionately known to her family as Aunt Gloria, she was loved and admired for her demure signature smile, her pleasant ways, gentleness, and her peaceful quiet demeanor. Her lifelong interests were cooking tasty Jamaican cuisine for her family and friends and taking cruises to visit other countries.
Mrs. Frazer was the beloved mother of Euan (Pam), and late son Dudley (Barry), and her daughter-in-law Jennifer. The loving grandmother of Trevor, Stacey-Ann, Denise, Jamal, Shanna, Dontae and great grandmother to Tavy, Jadin, Mariana, Christopher, Madison, and Mario.
In 1981 Mrs. Frazer migrated to the USA and worked as a healthcare professional at Dumont Masonic Home until she retired in 2005. She spent the early part of her retirement in Port Charlotte, Florida, where she volunteered at the Adult Care Center in her neighborhood and was a member of Fellowship Pentecostal Church.
Mrs. Frazer’s health began to decline in 2018, and she returned to New York to be with her daughter and family. She left us peacefully in sleep on June 26, 2021, with her family by her side in Bridgeport, CT.
In addition to her husband Sigismund Frazer, her children, grand and great grandchildren she leaves to mourn her a host of nieces and nephews, the families of her late siblings: the Jackson brothers, George, Cleveland, Jasper, and her sisters Letitia De Irish. Pearline Kerr, Dorothy Cassells, Veta Marson, and her brother-in-law Rutland Cassells, and sisters-in-law Pauline Headley and Blossom Jackson.
Life is just a steppingstone, a pause before we make it home.
A simple place to rest and be until we reach eternity.
Aunt Gloria went ahead of us. May
she rests in peace until again we meet.
