Gilbert E. Schuessler, age 92, of Trumbull, passed away on September 7, 2023. He was born in North Bergen, NJ to the late Henry and Evelyn (Eaton) Schuessler, and was a longtime area resident. Gilbert was a proud Korean War Veteran. He was a Certified Public Accountant who retired from Boehringer Ingelheim in 1995. Other places he worked before retirement include Raybestos, Sinclair Oil, and Paramount. He took great pride in his work and the many collegiate degrees he held. After retirement, he enjoyed bowling with the Holy Cross Church Senior Bowling League and golfing at Tashua Knolls with his close friends.
He is survived by his son Scott and his wife Patty of Stratford, Glens fiancée Wendy Sisk of Maine; his grandchildren, Brittney, Cody and his fiancée Kaylee, Kaitlyn, Tyler, Connor, John, Crewe, Tabatha and her husband Evan and Jacob; and his great-grandchildren, Bentley and Ava. Gil loved spending time with his family and he was proud of the fine adults they became.
He was predeceased by his wife Henrietta and his son Glen. Gil always talked fondly of his time with Henrietta and absolutely adored her. He enjoyed taking trips to the lake with his son Glen and his family when he went to visit him in Maine.
Friends are invited to attend a graveside service on Monday September 11, at 11:30 a.m. at Lawncroft Cemetery, 1740 Black Rock Turnpike, Fairfield, with Reverend Suhee Kim officiating. The family requests those who wish to express sympathy to consider making a donation to their favorite charity in Gil's name.
