Franklin Wendt Obituary

Franklin J. Wendt (86) of Trumbull passed away peacefully on August 5. The son of the late Kurt and Adelaide Wendt, Frank was born October 21, 1932, in Madison, WI. While in Madison Frank met and went on to marry Janice Pahlmeyer the day after their graduation from the University of Wisconsin. Frank and Jan went on to enjoy 65 years of marriage filled with life, love, and adventure. He retired after a 35-year-long career with General Electric and Stanley - Black & Decker. In addition to his loving wife, Frank is survived by his four sons and their wives: David and Kim of Naugatuck, Steve and Michelle of Easton, Jim and Mary of Monroe, and Frank Jr. and Amanda of Trumbull; eleven grandchildren, and two great grandchildren. Frank is also survived by his two brothers: Jerry, and his wife, Judy, of Minneapolis, MN, and twin brother Dick of Columbus, OH. He is predeceased by his sister-in-law, Carol Wendt, and brother-in-law, Jim Pahlmeyer.

Frank was an active member of Nichols United Methodist Church, lending his voice to the choir for many years and serving in multiple leadership positions. Frank was also a frequent volunteer in other community outreach programs. Throughout his life, Frank enjoyed playing cards, board games, golfing and boating. He brought both a competitive spirit and a sense of humor to all that he did. He also enjoyed traveling with his many friends and family. Frank will be fondly remembered for his proclivity to embrace life, his good nature, being a stickler for card etiquette, having an uncanny knack at finding prime parking spots, and being a devoted husband, father, brother, grandfather, uncle, and friend.
