Francis William Lenox of Trumbull, CT, died peacefully in his home on October 23, 2021. He was 3 days from his 90 birthday. Mr. Lenox was born in Rahway, NJ and was a longtime Trumbull resident.
He was a military veteran, having served his country as a member of the United States Air Force during the Korean War (1950-1953). During his years of service, he was decorated with the US Air Medal, the National Defense Service Medal, and the Air Crew Member Services Badge, and was honorably discharged in 1960.
Towards the end of his military service, he attended Union Junior College in Cranford, NJ, where he obtained an Associates Degree in Arts in 1958. He then graduated from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor in 1961 with a Bachelor of Science in Engineering (Electrical Engineering). He was a registered professional engineer in the States of Michigan, New York and Connecticut, and had a long career in government-sponsored defense projects on both a national and international scale, working with British counterparts.
In his spare time, Mr. Lenox enjoyed the upkeep of antique cars, photography, fishing, and golf. He was a devoted husband and father of four children. His surviving children are Timothy Lenox -57, of Torrington, CT, Richard Lenox- 56, of Trumbull, CT, Susan Lenox- 50, of Landgrove, VT, and Peter Lenox- 46, of Torrington, CT.
Funeral arrangements are in care of the Cyril F. Mullins Funeral Home, 399 White Plains Rd. Trumbull, CT. Family and friends are invited to attend his funeral services which will be held on Friday, October 29, 2021. A Solemn High Requiem Mass will be offered by his son, the Very Rev. Peter Lenox at 10:15 a.m. at St. Theresa’s Roman Catholic Church, 5301 Main St. Trumbull, CT, followed by burial at 2:30 p.m. with full military honors at St. Gertrude Cemetery, 53 Inman Avenue, Colonia, NJ.
