Floyd Anthony Morley, age 92, of Trumbull, passed away January 7, 2021 in his home with his family at his side. He was born in Pine Island, NY (né Morgiewicz) and resided in Trumbull for over 50 years. Floyd was a retired finance executive for General Electric in several US locations and Switzerland. At the age of 17, Floyd enlisted in the Navy and served as an air traffic controller while stationed in Florida. As a veteran of the WW2 era, he later attended Clarkson College, where he majored in business.
Floyd was active in his community as a member of the Knights of Columbus, Kiwanis Club, and American Legion. Over the years he enjoyed his bowling league, golf buddies, and his GE retiree lunch bunch. He also traveled extensively with his wife Evelyn. Wherever they went, his friendly and vivacious personality helped them to create many new and lasting friendships. Floyd’s childhood years spent growing up on a farm endeared him to tending the land, so he was particularly proud of his beautiful lawn and gardens.
He is survived by his four devoted children Karen Morley and her husband Robert Breault, Kathleen Misset and her husband Thomas, Michael Morley and his wife Marilyn and Daniel Morley and his wife Catherine; eight loving grandchildren Kellyn, Kristen and her husband Daniel, Karly, Raena, Rebecca, Julia, Jacqueline and Sean, his sister Delores Piasecki and her husband Leon, and his sister-in-law Sophia Morgiewicz (Vincent). He was recently predeceased by his second wife, Evelyn (Newmayer). He was also predeceased by his first wife Jeanne (Fahey) and his parents, Floyd and Mary Morgiewicz; his step father Joseph Olszewski, his brothers Daniel, Vincent and Conrad Morgiewicz and his sister Isabel Dudlo. He is also survived by his loving goddaughters Peggy Ann Gates, Frances O’Hara and Lisa Van Inwegen along with several other nieces and nephews.
The family expresses their gratitude to the Little Angels Home Care employees Gina and Allison who lovingly stayed with Floyd and his family through his last hours, and to Linda at the Center for Geriatrics for her selfless effort to help the family.
