Felipe Rosa Obituary

After a more than courageous battle with cancer Felipe Rosa (Phil) passed through the gates of heaven May 10, 2021 with his beloved wife and 3 daughters by his side. Felipe was born in Bridgeport on October 9, 1954 to Segundo and Sofia Rosa. He graduated from Stratford High School, where he enjoyed taking part in school plays and singing the National Anthem at school events.  His love of music was ever present from a young age. A hard worker, fun loving family man who adored his 3 daughters and his grandson Josiah. Working three jobs at most times throughout his life to support family, his greatest, most proudest moment came when he passed the test and became a Bridgeport Firefighter; nicknamed “ANIMAL” by his brother firefighters for his will to get right in and fight the fires and save anyone in the flames. He spent a week at 9/11 representing the Bridgeport Fire Dept. setting up numerous coat drives for those in need while working the fire dept.; serving faithfully feeding those in need every Tuesday along with the Bridgeport Rescue mission food truck.
After he retired from the fire department, he was a Maintenance Director for Atria Stratford, adored by his residents that he took such good care of. Receiving countless “employee of the month awards” for always  going above and beyond. Above and beyond is how he lived his life, passionate about Church, family  and music. So proud of his daughters' accomplishments and always heard boasting about them and his grandson Josiah attending Fairfield Prep and playing sports for them. Phil was married to the love of his life Karen. The two were inseparable; enjoying company at home, Friday night “date nights”, vacations and their daily rides through Seaside Park. So proud of the paradise he created every summer in the yard with his flower garden for her.
Phil is predeceased by his brother Elias, mother Sofia and father Segundo. He is survived by his beloved wife Karen, his daughters; Gabrielle, Moriah (Dorian), Miosotis (Fraindy) and grandson Josiah; his brothers Tony (Marcia), and Ronnie, and several dearly loved nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his mother-in -law Connie, Austin, Samantha and baby Elle.
Karen wishes to thank the Smilow Liver Cancer Team and Connecticut Hospice for their compassionate care.  Phil’s family would have been so grateful for anyone who wishes to donate to the Bridgeport Rescue Mission, 1069 Connecticut Ave, Bridgeport, CT 06607
