Emil P. Balusek Jr., age 69, of Trumbull, CT passed away peacefully on June 22, 2024 in St. Vincent's Medical Center.
He was born in Bridgeport, CT to the late Emil and Stella Balusek Sr. For 36 years, he worked his dream job at Sikorsky Aircraft as an aircraft rescue fire fighter and served as the training lieutenant. He was a volunteer firefighter for Nichols Fire Department since the age of 16. Emil was an avid hunter, fisherman, and sportsman. He volunteered as a board member for the Seymour Fish and Game Club, the Newtown Fish and Game Club, and the former Stamford Fish and Game Club, Inc. He was a proud member of the Bridgeport Area Retired Firefighters (BARF).
Emil is survived by his beloved wife and confidante of 13 years Anne Cottle, his brother Brian Balusek and his wife Ann, and nieces Meryl, Beth and Gwen Balusek. He will be greatly missed by his loyal hunting dogs Zeke and Axel. Emil cherished his brother firefighters, fellow club members, his precious cousins and countless friends.
Friends and family are invited to attend his funeral services on Friday, June 28. 2024 at 10:15 a.m. at the Cyril F Mullins Funeral Home, 399 White Plains Rd. Trumbull and at 11:00 a.m. at St. Catherine of Siena Church, 220 Shelton Rd. Trumbull. Burial to follow in Nichols Village Cemetery.
