Ellen Laurel (Morey) Ivanovich, age 80, of Shelton passed away peacefully on October 17, 2024 and is now reunited with her beloved husband David Louis Ivanovich, Sr., who passed away in 2018. Ellen was born on September 20, 1944 in Bridgeport and was a graduate of Notre Dame High School and Butler Business School. She was the office manager for her late husband's businesses, Dave's Mobil and Dave’s Automotive in Stratford and was a bookkeeper for her good friends Kathy and Tony Sirico at Greg and Tony's Hair Salon. Ellen was also a very talented floral designer who worked for her dear friend Joy Marino at Village Flower Shop for 15 years.
She enjoyed many years of living by the beaches of Milford, CT and Palm Beach Gardens, FL and took great pride in hosting countless holiday and special celebrations. Ellen was a very loyal friend to many, making several lifelong friendships through her dedication and involvement in St. Catherine of Siena Church and school. She was an avid UCONN basketball fan of both the men’s and women's programs as well as any team any of her grandchildren were on. You would always find Ellen and Dave at their grandchildren's sports games, both near and far! Although, her greatest joy was her marriage to David of 55 years and time spent with her entire family
.
She was predeceased by her husband, David Louis Ivanovich Sr., her mother, Agnes Baxter Morey and her brothers, Tim and Tom.
She is survived by her devoted children, Tracey Lynn Picarazzi and her husband Guido Jr., and David Ivanovich, Jr. and his wife Debra, two brothers, William Morey and his wife Marilyn, Kevin Morey and his wife Karen, one sister Kathleen Morey Larosa and her husband Paul, her brother-in-law Thomas Ivanovich and wife Andrea, as well as her sister in law Robin Hainsworth and her husband Tom, four grandchildren Guido Picarazzi III, Dante Picarazzi, Abigail Ivanovich and Lilia Ivanovich and many nieces and nephews.
We would like to especially thank Delores Lee for her loving care over the years and to the staff at Wesley Heights for their support along the way. Lastly, we are grateful for Mary Anne and Marie from AccentCare Hospice for all of their help over the last year.
Friends and family are invited to attend her funeral service on Thursday at 11:00 a.m. at St. Catherine of Siena Church, 220 Shelton Rd. Trumbull. Interment will follow in Nichols Village Cemetery. Friends may pay their respects on Wednesday from 4-7 p.m. at the Cyril F. Mullins Funeral Home, 399 White Plains Rd. Trumbull, CT.
