Elizabeth (Harper) Thompson, age 93, of Monroe, CT, passed away July 4, 2024. She was born in Bridgeport, CT to the late Walter and Kathyrn Harper.
She graduated from Harding High School and resided in Bridgeport, CT most of her life until moving to Monroe. She was a member of the Columbiettes and a former Eucharistic minister and member of St. Jude's Parish in Monroe, CT.
She retired from Textron Lycoming as a telephone operator in 1995, after many years of service.
Elizabeth enjoyed crocheting, reading, game shows, especially "Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy" and spending time with her family.
She baked the best fruitcake and oatmeal cookies and people begged her to bring her spinach dip to every party.
Elizabeth loved her family fiercely and spread kindness and generosity to everyone she met.
She was predeceased by her beloved husband of 40 years, Charles E. Thompson and her son-in-law William Melton.
Survivors include her devoted daughters, Gwen Melton and Anne Beckwith, son-in-law Chip Beckwith, loving grandchildren George Beckwith, Jessica Melton, Erin Harrington and her husband, David Harrington, cherished great-grandchildren Ellie Harrington, Ava Harrington, Billy Harrington and Conor Harrington.
Friends and family are invited to attend her funeral services on Wednesday, July 10, 2024 at 9:15 a.m. at the Cyril F. Mullins Funeral Home, 399 White Plains Rd. Trumbull and at 10:00 a.m. at St. Jude's Church, 707 Monroe Turnpike, Monroe, CT. Burial to follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Trumbull, CT. Friends may pay their respects on Tuesday, July 9, 2024 from 4-7 p.m at the funeral home.
