Eleanor Hart Obituary

Eleanor (Ginty) Hart, age 83, of Stratford, passed away peacefully, September 13, 2021 in Connecticut Hospice, Branford, CT. She was born in Bridgeport, CT, daughter of the late John Patrick and Agnes Ginty. She graduated from St. Vincent's School of Nursing, working as a school nurse at St.Theresa Church and as an EMT nurse for the Town of Trumbull.  As a registered nurse, she worked for various area nursing facilities including Barnett, Hewitt Memorial and Sylvan Manor.
Prior to that she was the rental department manager at the family business, Mel Hart Appliance.  In her earlier years, Eleanor was active in the National Kidney Foundation and the Trumbull Junior Woman's Club. She lived a full life with her husband, Peter Hart, for 61 years and she loved spending time with her children, grandchildren and an abundance of devoted friends. Eleanor had many interests and especially enjoyed gardening, traveling and reading. Her great humor, intuitive advice and love will be greatly missed.
Eleanor was predeceased by her son Melvin Peter Hart III. 


She is survived by her beloved husband Melvin Peter Hart II, her devoted children Sean Hart and his wife Holly Mullins-Hart, Peggie Hart and her husband David Hale, Kathy Hart-Jones, and Eileen Hart and her husband Al Racalbuto, her loving brother James Ginty; seven cherished grandchildren, Kelly Hart, Stephanie Jones, Rachel Hart, Derek Jones Jr., Sean Racalbuto, Brian Racalbuto, and Grace Racalbuto; her son-in-law Derek Jones Sr.; her brother and sisters-in law, Richard Hart and his wife Terry, James and his wife Jean, Holly Hart and Suzanne Ginty; and a host of nieces and nephews whom she adored and many dear friends as well.

 
Friends and family may pay their respects on Friday from 3-7 p.m. at the Cyril F. Mullins Funeral Home, 399 White Plains Rd. Trumbull, CT.  (Masks are required). Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 9 a.m. directly at St. James Church, 2070 Main St, Stratford, CT. Interment to follow in Nichols Village Cemetery, Trumbull, CT.
